Professional Experience

Sharifah handles PPP project advisory work in the Middle East, predominantly in Qatar, and in Malaysia. She advises on PPP related projects under Whitepencil LLC, Qatar as Of Counsel. She has been based in the Middle East since 2008. She has worked with Bennett Jones (Middle East) LLP and Al Tamimi & Company. Prior to moving to the Middle East, Sharifah previously worked at leading law firms in Malaysia for 17 years. She is also a partner of Foong & Partners in Malaysia.

She has particular expertise in PPP projects. The projects she has advised on include hydro power plants, solar power projects, waste-to-energy projects, infrastructure, airports (Hamad International Airport in Qatar, Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Subang Skypark), ports, marinas, solid waste treatment facilities, water treatment facilities, utilities, hospitals and property development. Sharifah has advised on projects in South East Asia, Pakistan and the Middle East.
